The Garlic

We spent the end of a much-needed weekend vacation at the beach relaxing. The water was rough but beautiful to watch as the high tide rolled in. It didn’t take me long to feel like a baked potato chip in the sun, so after a brief swim, we packed up and left. Our final stop was a local favorite called The Garlic. It was surprisingly large with several outdoor brick ovens. The inside is an eclectic mix of lighting and decor completed by live music. Outside is a large seating area near the bar packed with happy customers. It’s typical to wait nearly two hours for a table, and they don’t take reservations, so the outdoor seating makes a perfect spot to relax and smell the food cooking in the numerous ovens.

Once seated, we ordered drinks that were magazine cover-worthy. The bread and salad were excellent, and the in-house dressing topped it off. By this point, we were stomach growling hungry, but when my meal arrived, I quickly understood why it was so packed. The steak is so tender it practically melts, making even the hungriest stop and savor the meal. It was the perfect ending to a great weekend.
